To avoid near disasters like this, you should choose from four-to-six photographers to interview for your wedding day. Because photography is a large percentage of your wedding budget, choose your wedding photographer carefully with an understanding that you are going to have to work closely with this individual (or team) for most of your wedding day.

If you want the final product delivered electronically via the Internet, in a photo book or multiple photo books and/or on DVD, make sure that you discuss this upfront and that it is delineated in your final, signed contract.

Select a photographer whose other work you admire. Like all art, photographers tend to develop a consistent style in all of their work. Decide which photographer's vision, professionalism and end product closely matches your expectations and make sure you get everything in writing before you sign a contract or pay any fees.

With digital editing, any photograph can be turned into black and white, but a wedding that is shot purely as black and white can be stunning and create art quality imagery to last a lifetime.
